Become an Education Abroad Ambassador
Education Abroad Ambassadors is a student-run organization recognized by the Center for Student Organizations in collaboration with the Education Abroad department within the Office of International Education (OIE) here at the University of Georgia. EA Ambassadors serve to promote and support students interested in study abroad experiences, support the efforts of the UGA Office of International Education, and seek to further student interest in international educational experiences through their interaction with fellow students.
All EA Ambassadors have previously completed at least one study abroad experience while enrolled at the University of Georgia and have a mutual interest in helping their peers participate in international endeavors. EA Ambassadors meet monthly and host multiple Education Abroad Workshops each semester. Past workshops have included “International Health & Safety,” “Breaking Out of the Bubble,” “Tales from Abroad,” “Packing, Budgeting, and Useful Apps,” etc. EA Ambassadors assist Education Abroad staff by serving as volunteers for the annual OIE Open House, study abroad fairs, pre-departure orientations, re-entry orientations, various Options Abroad student panel sessions, and much more.
For returned study abroad students looking for a fun and beneficial way to share about their experiences studying abroad, this is the ideal leadership opportunity. Get involved serving on various Executive Committees as a general member, including: Campus Outreach, Membership, Public Relations, and Research.
